I have the pleasure to welcome you to the Special Session on "Innovative and Competitive Manufacturing Engineering - ICME" of the IPROMS 2006 conference.

Congratulations to all authors! Your papers have been accepted and published on the IPROMS 2006 conference web site and book of proceedings. They promote valuable pieces of work and I am sure they will be of great interest to all participants. Our session includes 12 high quality papers from different areas of research.

Let me introduce myself - my name is Ioan Liviu Baciu, the co-chair of the Special Session on "ICME" of the IPROMS 2006 conference where your papers belong to.

All the authors from this session have to be registered first before being able to upload/modify their presentations. Upon subscription, please email to SorokaAJ@cf.ac.uk your username, so you can have special access privileges compare to common users.

I would like also to remind you to upload your video presentations, if you haven't done so yet.
As you know, from today Monday, July 3rd, the 2nd IPROMS Intelligent Production Machines and Systems Conference 2006 starts.

For those authors whose papers have been accepted, I look forward to your presentations. When they are ready, please submit them via the website or email directly to me (baciu@unina.it) so that I can upload them. The instructions of how to prepare/upload your presentation is available on the conference website. Please make sure that the "Capture audio from audio device" is ticked when you prepare your presentation using the software recommended by the mentioned website.

May be it would be a good idea if you have a look at the other papers in all the sessions of the 2nd IPROMS Intelligent Production Machines and Systems Conference 2006. You can find common ground with other researchers from the other site of the globe. Do not hesitate to ask questions and post comments regarding the papers; we would like to establish a "live" discussion and help each other into their research.

Please, check the conference web site daily, probably there will be questions to you regarding your work and/or interesting discussions can start.
