I am pleased to welcome all participants to the IPROMS* 2008 Conference for the session on Collaborative and Responsive Manufacturing Systems. I am K.W. Ng, your co-chairman for this session.
The papers in this session will be touching on the systems and models that improve and enhance collaboration between a manufacturing enterprise, its suppliers, customers, and partners so that multiple groups can work together as they set plans and policy, agree to actions, and execute operations to boost responsiveness, agility, and customer-centricity.
