Figure 1 illustrates the powder application process. Uncoated parts are arranged on a conveyor. The operator sets up the process parameters for the particular coating job based on experience. Charged powder particles are sprayed onto the electrically grounded parts from powder coating guns which utilise the corona charging technique. The charged powder particles deposited on the workpiece and adhere by means of electrostatic image forces. The powder-coated parts are then passed through and heated in a curing oven to ensure smooth coating.
