Introducing IPROMS CCT (Part 1)

We thought you might like to know the main personalities behind IPROMS 2006. Over the coming months, we shall introduce them to you.
Today, it is the turn of two of the members of IPROMS CCT (Central Coordination Team), Old Av and his elder brother, Eld Av.
Old Av is well known to the IPROMS Community. He single-handedly designed and implemented all the necessary IT for IPROMS 2005 (not without a great deal of encouraging, pleading and threatening by the Chairman). He is the creative technical brain behind IPROMS 2006. As a person, he can be friendly, witty and sensitive. He likes posting geeky blogs. His promises are lengendary (click here).
Eld Av shares the family trait of tallness and a professional interest in IPROMS with his brother. Eld Av is better known to the I*PROMS Community, being the Manager of our EC-funded FP6 I*PROMS Network of Excellence on Innovative Production Machines and Systems. He is the man that keeps a vigilant eye on I*PROMS to ensure that the Network continues working to schedule despite the many unavoidable distractions caused by IPROMS 2006. In a sense, he contributes to IPROMS 2006 by looking after the health of its main sponsor, I*PROMS. He is usually quiet (except when excited), well organised and efficient, preferring procedures and forms - only the EC likes forms more than he does. He is still cyber-shy, not having posted even one blog so far. However, we live in hope.

Hi Eldaw,
Great to see your blog! I wish others would follow your shining example (Hero, Old Av, Wilma and Betty have of course beaten you to it)!
I have an idea for encouraging our IPROMS community to post blogs. Will disclose it in the near future.
PS: Hope your move went well today.

Hi Pham,
Speaking of ideas for encouraging IPROMS Community to blog, what about creating a prize for best bloggers (number of blogs + objectivity). Also during the conference, we can encourage visitors to post general comments about the conference. This means that the Chair (as the undisputed CCT nominee for winning the prize given his current record of blogging) has to check these comments regularly and respond to them promptly.
This way we add value to blogging!!!
PS: The move is complete now, however, the bigger job (unpacking) is still waiting to be finished. Thank you for asking.

Well, there won't be IPROMS 2006 without I*PROMS. I hope it can work the other way round.
