At present a simple and straightforward architecture has been designed and implemented for the CADS_POMS. Thus, a database will keep every piece of data, namely about products, processes, operations, resources and attributes for each of these entities, necessary for carrying out the successive design steps. Additionally results from applying methods to generate and evaluate design solutions, at each step are also kept in the data base. A methods data base is used for every method implementation useful to the design process. Interaction between methods and data is coordinated by user intervention though a computer-user interface.
