The I*PROMS 2006 conference presentations

Vlado's picture

I'll try to explain some of the reasoning behind this year presentation format and why video of all things.

Last year we went ambitiousy with html based presentations derived from S5. This has caused a lot of confusion for the authors. To be fair, we are not in the business of changing people's habits. So for this year we decided to simplify the procedure. You can use your favourite tool to prepare a presentation. Then capture your presentation delivery off the screen. In my opinion this is a minor headache and complication, while maintaining the advantage of presenting the content for all (ok, most) platforms.

Presentations progress

We are working hard on seeding the papers and their abstracts in the conference forums (sessions). Unfortunately this involves quite a bit of manual intervention. When those are ready, you will be able to upload your video presentations.

Website theme upgrade

Vlado's picture

I've uploaded the new website theme. It is kind of working. It should work (nearly) as intended in gecko and khtml browsers. I've noticed a couple of bugs with IE6 and a majour problem with opera. The latter stuns me, since the html and css validate.

New website styling, progress report

I'm nearly there. You can view part of it already, if you change your default theme from your user's profile. The only real show stoppers are:

  • the front and a couple of other compound pages
  • primary menu
