This paper therefore presents a methodology for optimisation of powder deposition efficiency. The methodology implements statistical methods and fuzzy logic, an intelligent technique. Fuzzy logic was explored in order to develop an intelligent powder coating methodology using data derived from a powder coating application. The paper describes the design of the fuzzy logic based powder coating system and its performance evaluation.
