Acoustic Holography in solids for Computer-Human Interaction
Computer-Human Interfaces for production machines can be generally categorised into two groups, tangible and intangible. The most commonly used computer input devices such as keyboards, touch-pads or touch-screens are tangible. In this paper, a new approach to the development of tangible acoustic interfaces based on acoustic holography is described. The principle of acoustic holography in solids is described and the achieved theoretical results are presented in this paper. A prototype of such a tangible acoustic interface has been developed and will be further optimised.
