<title>Toward the Next Generation of Manufacturing Systems. FRABIHO: A Synthesis Model for Distributed Manufacturing</title>
 <link>http://conference.iproms.org/toward_the_next_generation_of_manufacturing_systems_frabiho_a_synthesis_model_for_distributed_manufacturing</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The Next Generation of Manufacturing Systems (NGMS) is being built on the basis of the concepts associated to last generation of enterprise models. These models give rise to the so-called Agile Company, Extended Company and Virtual Company, all them included in a more wide concept which has grown with the Global Company conception. Currently, NGMS contains different distributed manufacturing system models proposed. Some of the most relevant NGMS models have been configured under considerations based on the possibility to establish similitude between a manufacturing system and either social, or biological or fractal systems. However, usually, these models are applied individually without take into consideration the advantages included in the rest of them. In this paper, a synthesis model containing FRActal, BIological and HOlonic (social) considerations has been proposed in order to make good use of the most relevant properties of the previously proposed protomodels. That model has been named as FRABIHO.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
