HLA based supply chain management for Sakarya automotive suppliers

authors: Cemalettin Kubat, Özer Uygun

Supply chain systems are very typical example for distributed simulation. It requires a huge amount of information to be interacted among all of the elements of the supply chain system. With the increasing importance of computer-based information and communication technologies, distributed simulation and communication frameworks are becoming vital in supply chain management. Since its complexity in nature, traditional simulation techniques are not capable to simulate overall supply chain systems and it is needed to implement distributed simulation frameworks such as high level architecture (HLA). In this study, HLA based virtual supply chain management is proposed for automotive supplies of Sakarya and its periphery which is also can be used as a general supply chain model.

Dear authors,

Thank you for your paper, it make an interesting reading. In a constantly changing globalise world where technology continue to drive rapid change, do you think simulation of real-time system can be relied upon to give reliable evaluation of operating performance? Using an HLA based model, how do you capture or investigate the effect(s) of globalisation, economy liberalisation and technology on supply chain in manufacturing?

Thank you

Adebayo
