Design robotized cells for e-learning

This paper reflects needs of another education for worker in field of automated production. Current development of production systems is based on implementation of new computer technologies. Production management and workers, who use "classic production" are coming a brake of development of modern production systems bases on flexible NC machines, robots and computer based controll systems. Specially for this field is within the project „Leonardo Da Vinci Programme" prepared integrated set of vocational trainings based on eLearning technologies. Project participants are PIAP Varsava (Poland), ATB Bremen (Germany), CU Cardiff (Great Britain) and TU Kosice (Slovakia). Importance of education for field of robotics is particularly important to the Slovak republic because of orientation of Slovak’s machina industry on automobile industry. This industry binds wide range of subcontractor on itself from sector of small and medium enterprises - SMEs, for which is not easy to recruit qualified workers.

A manufacturing ontology for e-learning

Nikolaos Lagos and Rossitza M. Setchi

The paper presents the common ontology being developed in the ISAR project that integrates different aspects of the e-learning ISAR system. First existing ontologies developed in the manufacturing domain are reviewed and the need for an integrated approach towards developing e-learning lessons based on a common ontology is established. The presented ontology defines the training material, context, and manufacturing domains, as well as their interactions. An illustrative example demonstrates the use of the common ontology as part of

Innovative model of RENOWATOR Center of informal SMEs’ employees training supported by e-learning

The article presents the innovative features of the organization of Training-Consulting-Traineeship Center RENOWATOR structured within the framework of PIW EQUAL Project. RENOWATOR Center in the form of a complex structure realizes several possible paths to obtain innovative qualifications certified by the research institutes. RENOWATOR cooperates with the research institutes in transfer of the innovative technologies and knowledge stating as the base for the informal training of MSE employees.

RENOWATOR is the model of the informal center of efficient professional training and of the transfer of innovations from R&D sector to the economy and labor market.

Training in the field of innovative information technologies, which constitutes labor environment of the SMEs’ employees, is organized in the e-learning form. Several dozens of training programs and e-courses modules for innovative technologies were elaborated and deployed. There were such qualifications as Instructional Designer, e-Mentor, Data Analyst, Project Management Specialist, Logistic Advisor, Clients Needs Analyst. To increase the training effectiveness, complex organized center (micro scale) will be incorporated with the cooperation network of the labor market institutions for the reason to keep the workers trained in RENOWATOR Center on the labor market or introduce them for a second time to the market (macro scale).

Design and Development of the Lessons for the eLearning Vocational Courses in Robotics and Automation

Lessons design should correspond to the training subject. It is also necessary to develop a specific number of lessons, in order to enable the learner to be acquainted with modern topics. The presented vocational training in Automation & Robotics consists of 30 lessons. During the development of the training courses, the series of chosen lessons for various target groups, each basic lesson is extended into a forms of sub-lessons, including more detailed materials, widening the knowledge included into a selected, most important, part of the basic lesson. Other direction of the courses development is to supplement the body of the training materials with new form of contents, using advanced ICT technology means, e.g. multimedia files, simulation exercises, etc.

Application of eLearning supports an introduction of advanced ICT solutions in Car Recycling Enterprises.

Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements for several years is active in End-of-Life Vehicles recycling domain including research, technology, organization, law, education and car recycling dismantling station design. As a consequence of law and economical changes in Europe there is an urgent need for modern SMEs in recycling area. In existing SMEs the present level of ICT applications is often very low and it is necessary to train the management and technical staff of how to improve working practices in their companies by application of advanced ICT solutions. This can be supported by usage of the Best Enterprise Practice Methodology and modern eLearning techniques. This paper presents the application of eLearning to the area of car recycling supported by Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
