Engineering & runtime environment for distributed automation and control systems

For the provision of evolution we propose an execution environment for small controller nodes of a distributed automation system based on the reference model of the standard IEC 61499. This execution environment provides an abstraction of the hardware, a safe encapsulated area for the execution of control algorithms, and a configuration management providing the basic services needed for the execution of “normal” control logic and of the evolution control application.
