This paper reviews the thinking behind the information and communication technology (ICT) utilization in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and supply chain integration, as well as e-supply business designs. The main objective of the paper is to present the e-supply application based on Internet and agent software technology, and the development road map towards e-supply in the Finnish steel manufacturing industry network. The agent technology is still in the early stage of applications, especially in the area of SCM, but it seems to provide enormous opportunities in information sharing, operational cooperation and dynamic supply chain configuration.

Great work.  Hope it will be done as scheduled.  Just have one query to raise.  How to use SteelNet system through web browser if  the agent container is not situated in service provider’s premises?  Many thanks
