IPROMS 2007 presentations

I'll try to explain some of the reasoning behind this year presentation format and why video of all things.
During the 1st conference we were ambitious and had html based presentations derived from S5, as this caused a lot of confusion for the authors so we switched to YouTube style screencasting last year.
You can use your favourite tool to prepare a presentation. Then capture your presentation delivery off the screen. In my opinion this is a minor headache and complication, while maintaining the advantage of presenting the content for all (ok, most) platforms.
Why not upload the powerpoint file then?

IPROMS 2007 Proceedings

If you're wondering where your proceedings are, may I suggest you cast your mind back to the summer of this year (although in the UK to call it a summer would be an exaggeration). You might recall that in several of the many emails that authors were bothered with it was mentioned that proceedings will be sent out to all authors towards the end of the year.
Touch wood (knock knock) that is still the case and proceedings will be sent out around December time.

Uploading Presentations

First things first
First of all if you don't already have an account on the IPROMS conference website* you will need to create one. If you do have an account then you can just go straight to the upload instructions below.
To do this use the "create new account" link on the front page. When creating an account you MUST tick the "Subscribe to IPROMS 2007" option - if you don't do this you won't be able to upload your presentation.
OK so how do I actually upload my presentation?
Remember only VIDEO PRESENTATIONS should be uploaded! If you don't know how to create a video presentation pay a visit to: http://conference.iproms.org/iproms_2007_presentations
Welcome to IPROMS 2007

My own personal welcome to all IPROMS 2007 delegates!
Some important points - particularly for paper authors.
- Make sure you have an account on the conference website (this website and NOT the I*PROMS website OR the submission website)
- Once you have a username let Vlado and myself (I've sent you email with our contact details and I don't want to get any more spam than I already have so I'm not listing it) with your username and session/paper details
- Upload your presentation, see the howto in the blogs section
- Please respond to any questions and queries
Don't forget to 'Subscribe to IPROMS 2007'

If you are creating a new account on the IPROMS conference website don't forget to tick the "Subscribe to IPROMS 2007" checkbox whilst setting-up your account. If you don't do this you won't be able to participate fully in the conference!
And the winners are

In case you don't already know the winners of the IPROMS 2006 prizes are:
Best Presentation:
T. Sievers
Global sensor feedback for automatic nanohandling inside a scanning electron microscope
Best Paper by Young Authors:
73 countries

Initial analysis (courtesy of google) shows that the IPROMS conference website was visited by people from 73 countries during the two weeks of the conference and has beaten the figure for IPROMS 2005. So I think it's fair to say that IPROMS is truly a Global event.
Just because it's the weekend

It doesn't mean that you can't participate in IPROMS 2006, the conference is open 24 hours a day.
