An investigation of the influence of machining conditions on machining error

Abstract
Machining parameters have been investigated in this paper to study their influences on the volumetric error of a machined part. While past studies and theoretical applications were used to analyse effect of some machining parameters, experimental investigation was applied to the others and the responses were analysed using classical Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The paper attempts to analyse the behaviour of volumetric error of parts machined on a three axis vertical machining center under the influence of various machining parameters. The machining parameters that influence volumetric error of machined part was established and proposed for use within error prediction methodology
