A Technology Roadmap on Service-Oriented Cross-layer Infrastructure for Distributed smart Embedded devices

Authors: Marco Gerosa, Alessandro Cannata, Marco Taisch

Abstract

SOCRADES (Service-Oriented Cross-layer Infrastructure for Distributed smart Embedded devices) is a European research and advanced development project. Its primary objective is to develop a design, execution and management platform for next-generation industrial automation systems, exploiting the Service Oriented Architecture paradigm both at the device and at the application level. As an important output of the SOCRADES project, a Technology Roadmap is being developed. The aim of the Technology Roadmap is to aid in forecasting the features of future environment and how technological research has to be used to achieve such long term objectives.

Thank you for sparking the thought on required features of future environment.
These features are viewed in four relevant TA.

In the view of service-centric infrastructure - Enterprise Intergration,
In to view of flexible production with the enterprise support, there have been stated that the connectedness of the future manufacturing plant to three vital components;
workers-machines-products.

I think, the suppliers should be one of the vital component as well.
